UPEC (European Popular University for the production of Mediation Intervention Cases) is a European Erasmus + Project , co-financed by the European Union, initiated by the European social mediation association CReE.A and managed by the French social mediation association Optima.
The aim of the project is to develop and produce educational tools to better professionalize social mediators in Europe.
The core of this work – 5 case studies – provides insight into both the common core of the social mediator position, but also the specific areas of intervention of social mediation in Europe:
- The Mediation City (Belgium)
- Intercultural mediation (Spain),
- Citizen mediation (France)
- Migrant mediation (Italy)
- School mediation (Portugal)
Members of the UPEC consortium
5 specialist mediation structures in 5 European countries worked from 2022 to 2024 to build a common vision of social mediation and to produce this educational kit for social mediation stakeholders in Europe.
